The spirit of the Lord left...
The spirit of the Lord left from Saul when He disobeyed the Lord's command by the mouth of Samuel to utterly destroy all of the enemy and everything that pertained to him and then lied about it. Such as when Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Holy Ghost and agreed to hold back part of the price of the offering to the Lord.
Saul, who was the head of the people, blamed the people for not abiding by the command of the Lord. It was his duty to see that the people followed the command but because his heart was unclean and desired the "stuff" of the land, he chose to allow compromise in the camp and lost his anointing and his kingdom.
Saul, like many of us would have both the blessing of God and the blessing of this world. But God says he will share His glory with no man. Our purpose is to seek first the kingdom of God. To be faithful over a few things. Trust the Lord with all our heart. If we want to be Davids, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily besets us. Ask God to help you seek Him with your whole heart and be found of Him in our positions of priesthood. Interceding on behalf of one another and confessing our faults to one another. Let us not lie to the Holy Spirit but be open to the chastisement of God through any means He deems necessary.
praise the lord
